Exciting opportunity to join a thriving Company as a Graphic Designer/Digital Marketer, earning between £18k -  £22k per annum, depending on experience, working full time

Here at The Development Manager (TDM) we operate delivering Tech and Digital apprenticeships and Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) solutions to companies in the West Midlands and across the UK.  

TDM are a values-driven company who deliver:

  • high quality Tech and Digital apprenticeships for beginner career entrants and ranging up to BSc (Hons) Degree Apprenticeships which are more suitable for career progression.  These are currently delivered throughout the West Midlands.
  • Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and Learning and Development solutions to private, public and third sector organisations across the UK. 

We take pride in employing a team of professional individuals who want to make a positive difference to our customers and to the nation. In the past year, TDM have scaled rapidly at 190% growth.  We are projected to continue this growth in the months to come, especially in the apprenticeship area.

Due to our continuing success and to help promote our organisation, we are now looking to recruit a Graphic Designer/Digital Marketer to support the team.

The Role:

TDM is now looking for a graphic designer / digital marketer who combines talents:

  • an eye for digital design and creative flair
  • originality and analytical thinking in marketing
  • confident written communication skills.

You will represent “Who TDM are and What TDM do” to customers and stakeholders by using the power of design, presentation and digital marketing.  You will be primarily focused on leads generation but you will also be concerned with brand awareness and reputation management.

The scope of the role includes:

  • helping with the delivery and analysis of  email and social media marketing campaigns
  • developing collateral including print and pdf leaflets and handbooks, visual displays and presentation slide-ware
  • designing info-graphics
  • improving the website and Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) look and feel, perhaps helping with instructional design
  • perhaps some video or audio production

Key Duties:

  • Find out about internal and external customers’ requirements.
  • Work alongside the team to interpret briefs and determine scope of projects required.
  • Create designs, graphics for services illustrations, marketing campaigns, websites and virtual learning environments within timelines.
  • Present work completed to relevant managers, directors, team members and stakeholders.
  • Incorporate changes recommended into the final design/product.
  • Review designs, audio, video and written texts for errors before printing or publishing them on the web, VLE or social media platforms.
  • Work with the engagement team to prepare marketing collateral packs for events and presentations.
  • Work with managers and senior staff to produce and distribute informational white papers which have impressive visual impact
  • Run Social media and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Work with academic team to improve design and look of the VLE and Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Develop and deliver a range of monthly email newsletters for our clients and prospects
  • Distribute relevant news/content to customers or potential customers.
  • Update the company website with both design and content updates.
  • General administration duties as required by managers. 

The Person:

Skills and Attitudes Required:

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop or other image editing software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills.
  • Be able to work in a fast paced and flexible small team environment

Desired knowledge and skills:

  • Degree in graphic design or similar
  • A-level in English or a humanities subject
  • Experience with digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of Wordpress.
  • Knowledge of Moodle, Mahara or other Virtual Learning platforms.
  • Able to design with usability and accessibility in mind.
  • Responsive mobile web and email development experience.
  • Developing content for Web Designer courses and training others in design and development skills.
  • Photography and Video editing skills

Personal Qualities:

You will need organisational and presentation skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. You will be delivering deep and focused work in a quiet and productive TDM support team office environment. Our ethos is “doing good by doing well”.
