Due to continued growth and expansion, we are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative & Manager to join our expanding team based in Slough.

We supply care homes with consumables and equipment. We are a small dedicated team and our belief is that everybody can be a leader in their own role. The company has strong ethics and values. We are looking for a highly self-motivated person who is responsible for looking after the warehouse operations.

Forklift experience would be very useful and you would also need a full driving license.

 

Key attributes of the successful Warehouse Operative & Manager:

  • Self-managed and self-motivated (mostly working alone)
  • Hardworking (80% physical work)
  • Might need to work longer hours etc.
  • Physically fit, need to be able to cope with lifting heavy boxes
  • Need to be “switched on”
  • Ideally grade C or above in GCSE maths
  • Creative problem solver
  • Accurate with numbers and detailed orientated.
  • Good communication skills and a friendly person
  • Need a flexible, positive attitude
  • Ability to take responsibility
  • Ability to work on their own as well as liaise with the rest of the team.
  • Must be honest and trustworthy with strong ethics and values
  • Must remain calm under pressure
     

Duties of the Warehouse Operative & Manager role:

  • Receive all deliveries check against relevant paperwork (at Eastfield Road and Alpha Global, Slough Trading Estate)
  • Putting all stock away on a daily basis
  • Use forklift as necessary for pallets etc.
  • Keep warehouse tidy, clearing rubbish on a daily basis
  • Re-arrange stock (and racking shelf adjustments) to allow for growth/larger orders
  • Pick all orders on a daily basis and load the van
  • Perform stock checks as necessary
  • Organise all courier work on daily basis
  • Transfer stock between Eastfield Road and Alpha Global as required
  • Act as a backup on delivering to customers when normal driver is on holiday or when there are extra work loads
  • Notify admin/sales/management staff of stock issues.
  • Keep tight controls on all stock movements in view of accurate stock levels.
