Purpose of / Responsibilities of the role

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance this role will be involved across the whole Gensmile Group and spectrum of finance activities. A great opportunity for an ambitious candidate.

The company

Gensmile is a venture capital-backed company building a new dental group through acquisition. The company is actively looking to grow through additional acquisitions and through organic development of the 17 dental sites it owns already, making this an exciting time to join the business.

The company has experienced rapid growth over the previous 3 years. We would expect this growth to continue, therefore require employees who can contribute to this growth and develop their skills over time.

We are a dynamic company and believe work should be an enjoyable place to be. We offer flexible working hours, with the core hours being between 9.30am and 4.30pm.

 

The post

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be a key member in the smooth running of the finance function.

The core duties for the post are:

  • Responsibility for the balance sheets of all group companies
  • Review of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Review of management accounts to identify and explain variances before being sent to the Head of Finance for review
  • Group Consolidation
  • Review of monthly management information before being sent to the Head of Finance for final review
  • Management of two Assistant Management Accountants
  • Posting of a small number of month end journals
  • VAT returns
  • Payroll journals and HMRC payments
  • Preparation of year end accounts for audit
  • Day to day audit relationship during year end statutory audit
  • Short term cash flow forecasting
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process for the business on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Remuneration/Benefits

  • Salary up to £35,000

Skills/Experience

  • Minimum of ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA part qualified with high performance in exams taken to date.
  • Experience communicating with a range of stakeholders.
  • Good MS Office skills, (in particular Microsoft Excel)
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Demonstrable experience and responsibility within finance
