Ruminant Technical Advisor

Trouw Nutrition GB is a Nutreco company based in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, and manufactures a range of nutritional products for use in both the agricultural animal feed and pet food industries.

We are looking to recruit a Ruminant Technical Advisor to provide scientific support and development of new and current technologies to develop into tools, products and services for internal and customer delivery. This is a technical development role which links with research and development institutes and works closely with the Nutreco Research and Development team.

Key Accountabilities include:

• Maintain and develop scientific principles with the ruminant technical team.
• Develop current and new projects derived from Nutreco, GB customer base and within the Trouw GB team.
• Provide technical support and product advice for key ruminant customers, including face to face meetings and seasonal launches.
• Develop and maintain close links with global marketing, including project involvement and overseas travel where necessary.
• Gather customer intelligence and translate to promotion opportunities.
• Develop and be aware of new innovations to drive our ruminant portfolio.
• Keep up to date with nutritional and legislative literature and requirements and stakeholder events.

The successful applicant will be a well-developed ruminant specialist with experience of working in a ruminant nutrition support or research role. Preferably you will hold a PhD in a relevant discipline, but as a minimum a Degree in Animal Nutrition/Animal Science will be required. You will be results focussed with good technical and communication skills, a motivated self-starter with drive and ambition.  You will also be able to demonstrate a strong commercial awareness.
