Payroll & Accounts Clerk

Meadows are one of the UK's leading therapeutic residential childcare providers, with a network of homes based across Rochdale, Bury, Oldham, Huddersfield and Birmingham.  As an innovative and growing company, we are looking for an experienced Payroll / Accounts Clerk to support our existing finance office

The role will be part-time with a degree of flexibility, however working on a Friday is a stipulation.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record dealing with large payroll, as well as a sound working background in the accounts process.

This position is to provide effective support to the Finance Manager using SAGE.

Duties will include:

• Payroll administration and processing of staff timesheets
• Some knowledge and experience of working with factoring services
• Experience of purchase ledger and sales ledger systems, processing payments and chasing debtors
• Calculating staff expenses and mileage
• Some knowledge and experience of bank reconciliations
• Ideally experience of cashless systems

      The ideal candidate should have previous experience in financial administration using SAGE 50 Accounts and SAGE 50 Payroll.  The candidate should be proficient in Excel spreadsheets.

The role will require you to be able to undertake the above tasks and any other ad hoc duties. Candidates will be working closely with colleagues under the supervision and direction of the Finance Manager and Finance Director.   Candidates must be well organised and able to prioritise the workload whilst maintaining accuracy and paying close attention to detail.  Candidates must be able to work on their own initiative when required.
