We are looking for a qualified Health & Safety trainer to ensure the delivery of the full training programme of mandatory Health & Safety training for our colleagues.

Technical qualifications

Essential

  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF); or
  • Teaching or training qualification at SVQ level 3 (or equivalent), which has been accredited by SQA/QCA/Ofqual or validated by a higher education institution; or an equivalent award, such as:
  • PTLLS, CTLLS or DTLLS
  • Certificate in Education
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Education
  • SVQ levels 3 and 4 in Learning and Development
  • Scottish Training Qualification for Further Education (TQFE)
  • Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
  • First Aid at Work HSE or equivalent in order to teach first aid
  • NEBOSH or equivalent EH&S competency
  • Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (Units 1,2 & 3)
  • Driving licence

Desirable

Assessor qualification such as:

  • Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment RQF (QCF)
  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment RQF (QCF)
  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement RQF (QCF)
  • Other relevant construction or utility sector qualification deep excavation, confined spaces, fire management, manual handling

About the role

Reporting to the Head of the NGN Development Centre, you will be responsible for the delivery of NGN's mandatory Health & Safety training portfolio. Working with key internal and external stakeholders & business areas to understand current and future training & development needs; then ensuring the delivery, quality and continued development of our training portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver mandatory Health & Safety training across the network to ensure an excellent customer and stakeholder experience
  • Continuous review and development of mandatory training courses to ensure they meet regulatory and business standards both in terms of content and colleague experience.
  • Build open, mutually beneficial relationships with key internal / external stakeholders & industry experts - Energy & Utility Skills, Health & Safety, Business Operational Leads; Health & Safety team etc.
  • Assist in the identification of current & future training needs through liaison, support and measurement of individual, team and business performance

The Package

  • Permanent, Personal Contract
  • Up to £30,000 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience
  • Up to 10% bonus per annum depending on performance
  • 40 hrs per week
  • SSP for first 7 calendar days, then occupational sick pay
