Children's Support Worker
Progress Housing Group is a leading provider of housing and support services across England.
At Progress Housing Group we care about people. We want to give every one of our customers the very best service we can, and we’ve got a great set of colleagues working to make this a reality.
Providing accommodation and support services to women and their children escaping domestic abuse is a core activity for the Group and this role enhances the services we provide at our refuges.
We are looking for a person who is passionate and enthusiastic about delivering a child focused service. The role will involve supporting children and their mothers who move into our refuges after experiencing domestic abuse.
You will foster an atmosphere of care, safety and belonging in a secure environment that encourages children to develop social skills and allows them to resolve the difficulties they are experiencing.
You will work closely with the mothers and other staff to ensure the practical and emotional needs of resident children are met, through play, support and advocacy.
You will have a recognised child care qualification and be able to demonstrate knowledge of domestic abuse awareness, housing issues, welfare benefits and routes to accessing legal help. You should have an approachable manner and be of a caring nature.
A Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this post.
If this sounds like the exciting new challenge you’ve been waiting for, and you’ve got the passion, the ideas and the energy, we’d love to hear from you.
