Robin and Martin is an educational specialist providing IT support within schools across the West Midlands.

The company has a strong working relationship with all Headteachers and Business Managers and prides itself on providing excellent customer service which is highly technical and totally supportive of all IT requirements.

The role of the Trainee will be based in a school or schools and will work under a senior mentor, an entry level of experience is expected, the trainee will work closely with their senior mentor and receive guidance to carry out basic maintenance functions such as

Desktop / User Support

Good understanding of Workstation Operating Systems

Good Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite

User Account Management

iPad Management / Maintenance / Updates

Manage Website Content

Resolve Classroom issues

Deliver basic staff training

The following skills would be advantageous

Experience in Coding (Scratch, App Inventor)

Experience of Office 365 features

Google Cloud Services (Mail, Docs, Sheets etc)

The role will cover 39 weeks per year, term time only with a salary of around £9,500 per annum.

Minimum qualifications will be BTEC at merit level or above however enthusiasm and willingness to learn will be a more important characteristic for this role. Robin and Martin technicians have to have great communication skills and be able to work with all members of school staff in addition to being a member of Robin and Martin technical team. Once training is complete it is envisaged that this role will expand into a full School ICT Technician role therefore problem solving and personal organisation skills will need to be demonstrated at an early stage.

Travel between schools will be essential therefore a full, clean driving licence is essential and own transport would be ideal.

A clean, enhanced DBS report will need to be undertaken and is an essential criteria for this role.
