Job Details
Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join their dynamic finance team based in Tamworth.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing credit control activities while also providing support across various finance functions. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop a well-rounded skill set in finance and contribute to the overall financial health of the organisation.
Duties for the Credit Controller will include but not be limited to the following:
Sales Ledger Management:
- Post cash received promptly and accurately to the appropriate accounts in the sales ledger.
- Input manual sales invoices, ensuring all data is entered accurately and efficiently.
Cash and Banking:
- Assist with the daily banking of cash, including preparing bank deposits and maintaining accurate records of transactions.
Debt Collection:
- Proactively chase for non-payment by contacting customers via phone, email, or in writing to discuss outstanding invoices.
- Maintain accurate records of communications and follow up as necessary.
Customer Relations:
- Send out customer statements regularly and address any queries or discrepancies raised by customers.
- Provide customers with copy invoices upon request and ensure they have access to all necessary documentation.
The ideal candidate for the Credit Controller role will have the following:
- Previous experience as a credit controller or similar role in finance or accounting.
- Strong understanding of credit control processes and best practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with customers and team members.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A relevant finance qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA) is an advantage but not essential.
36.25 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:15pm 1-hour lunch
