Sales account manager
A Shrewsbury-based B2B online publisher has a mid-level opportunity for an experienced sales executive/account manager to work across a portfolio of websites and events, selling subscriptions, conference delegate places, eLearning, online advertising, sponsorship and exhibition packages.
Our client is a publishing, events and business research organisation with a remit to track performance and opportunities within the environmental services sector, with a focus on the environmental consulting, contracting and support services market.
Leading the b2b news service covering the development of previously used or contaminated land. The publications also cover regeneration, remediation, regulation, policy and regional news, and runs an annual series of UK-based conferences.
The successful candidate will be commercially-focused, have proven experience within a B2B market environment and have the ability to demonstrate a successful track record of personal sales performance. Applicants must be willing and able to perform a full range of tasks intended to bring in new subscribers, sponsors, advertisers, delegates and trainees, whilst also engaging with existing key accounts and other clients to maximise sales opportunities.
The position is customer-facing, with a large amount of telephone work and email correspondence, supported by some direct customer contact at events and exhibitions. You will need to build excellent relationships with your account contacts, understanding their businesses and supporting them in their decision-making by providing information about our products and services and explaining how they can help them in their roles. At a general level you will need to familiarise yourself with news, trends, and buzzwords in the field.
You will need to be alive to sales opportunities in all the activities you are performing, which will include responding to incoming inquiries, converting free trialists to paid subscribers, developing key account relationships with specialist suppliers and large multi-national companies, contacting prospects to establish their requirements and build relationships, and recording activity in our CRM system (Salesforce)
On advertising sales, you will need to work with clients providing them with advice on how best to maximise the promotional goals of the advert, helping them pick the most effective approaches we have on offer, and then help align their campaign to achieve the results they expect.
The position may require travel to attend events. You should be comfortable meeting and conversing with event attendees as well as demonstrating our services online.
