The Role

You will be tasked with improving the performance of electrical systems across the fleet that will ultimately deliver sustainable reliability and availability targets, through optimising the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and reducing costs.

This key appointment will involve;

- Leading the Electrical Engineering section to ensure rolling stock electrical systems perform to the required operational and safety standards

- Managing activities within the electrical systems team ensuring work is prioritised, allocated and monitored to meet objectives

- Developing an effective and motivated team that works cohesively with other sections

- Identifying and managing engineering change for fleet electrical products and components that will improve performance of the high speed rail vehicles and enhance maintenance regimes

- Recommending and implementing solutions to any identified issues with electrical systems and their performance

- Overseeing engineering acceptance and compliance to regulatory bodies

This is a key appointment where your expertise within rolling stock electrical systems will facilitate the exciting development of fleet services within the business.

About You

You will have the vision, expertise and credibility to influence and drive engineering improvements that will exceed passenger expectations of performance and environment of the high speed trains across an expanding route.

With extensive knowledge of modern rolling stock electrical systems, you will have demonstrable success in engineering improvements associated with performance, reliability and safety.

You will be a proven inspirational leader capable of developing high-performing teams and possess advanced communication skills to negotiate and influence stakeholders and suppliers to meet performance and commercial objectives.

As a professional engineer, you will be degree qualified in an electrical engineering discipline and have attained or be working towards chartered status.
