Site Manager - Coventry

Package - £40,000 - £45,000pa + car or allowance + pension / healthcare, 25 days holiday


My client are a growing, well established main contractor within the UK Construction sector.

The construction business focus is on both public and private sector clients across key sectors of construction including, Education, Commercial, Retail, Fit out and Accommodation based projects.


The current requirement is for a Site Manager to be based in Coventry on a new design and build £20M + scheme. Working as a Site Manager for a main contractor, you will live locally to Coventry and have experience in site managing projects from 1st fix to plastering.

You will play a lead role in the project delivery of the scheme on site including:

Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the work of any subcontractors;
Planning the work and efficiently organising the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines and budget.
Work with the Project Manager to plan the project effectively ensuring that project requirements, specifications, design drawings and H&S proposals are all agreed and that a programme is in place.
Overseeing implementation of quality management and management of H&S on site.
Full responsibility for managing and maintaining the client relationship function to ensure customer satisfaction.

You will be a good team player, be able to communicate and work with different people in the delivery tram, overseeing the sub-contract performance on site and responding and offering solutions where necessary.


- A Degree / HND in a construction related discipline and 5+ years relevant experience or a minimum of 7 years' experience gained within similar site management roles working on projects worth £10-30m.
- Operational knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of CDM regulations.
- A current valid CSCS Card - preferably held at management level.
- Experience in working on Student Accommodation, Multi Storey mixed use developments or large commercial builds is preferred.
- Experience with Structural Steel and experience of cladding systems.
- Experience with RC frames.
- Experience in working in high density areas - tight sites - managing the logistics is key to successful delivery.
