Senior SQL DBA - Leeds - up to £50,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the fastest growing companies in the UK. They are looking for a. looking for a Senior SQL DBA to ensure optimal performance and availability of the groups SQL Server, Data warehouse and data dependent application estate using appropriate and secure best practice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, documenting and executing appropriate operating procedures across the data estate. They will also be liaising with SQL Server/Data warehouse/Application users to provide support, identify and advise on matters of appropriate use and best practice in support of business operations and service management.

You will also be responsible for managing multiple SQL Server clusters across the group, maintaining a high level of technical knowledge advising on architecture and designs and acting as a point of escalation for the support and development teams on infrastructure and data services issues and risks.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the capability to effectively and efficiently manage, support and steer projects in line with the standards developed and implemented under guidance of the Technical Design Authority.

Essential Experience:
* Demonstrate recent experience of managing/troubleshooting and configuring SQL server and associated client tools and systems based on SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2, and SQL Server 2012 SQL Server 2014 - Enterprise.
* Managing both company "home-grown" and application driven databases supported by SQL Server/ DataWarehouse.
* Experienced in developing work in Agile environment using SCRUM methodologies
* Experienced working closely with the Network Analysts and third party to deliver a robust and extremely well performing SQL Server environment.
* Previous experience in the day to day management of the SQL Instances/ warehouse estate:
* Work with SQL/Data Warehouse development teams to improve service design and code performance
* Work with Third party/infrastructure team/Storage engineers to improve hardware configuration/resilience and performance
* Demonstrate recent experience around:
* Experience of working in a fast-moving, energetic, commercially orientated environment either as a sole or lead DBA.
* Exposure to XML based data.
* Any c# or VB.Net will be valuable.
* Powershell Scripting - will be advantageous.

* Candidates will preferably hold Microsoft certification, MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) or MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) and willing to study towards this accreditation.
