Responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of IT architecture models and their lower level components. They are also required to interpret, use and apply information contained within IT architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement and maintenance of IT support systems.

The client is a leading Public Sector organisation based in London.


Key responsibilities:

- Recommending and participating in activities related to the design, development and maintenance of the Enterprise Architecture (EA)

- Managing, using and maintaining IT/technology architecture models

- Researching overall IT solutions on the market for particular technical requirements and business needs

- Implementing the IT strategy relating to the development of IT/technology architecture work

- Conducting and/or actively participating in meetings related to the designated project/s with clients and/or partners

- Advising and recommending enterprise architecture strategies, processes and methodologies

- Recommending and participating in the analysis, evaluation and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the EA objectives are consistent with the enterprise's long-term business objectives

- Sharing best practices, lessons learned and constantly updating the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and up-coming vendor products and solutions

- Participating in and managing Architecture Working Groups for the development and maintenance of the EA

- Collaborating with all relevant parties in order to review the objectives and constraints of each solution and determine conformance with the EA

- Recommending the most suitable technical architecture and defines the solution at a high level

- Recommending and participating in the development of architecture blueprints for related systems

- Identifying and recommending areas appropriate for further study and participates in any Proof of Concept projects required to thoroughly investigate architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for their adoption

- Identifying implementation risks and analyses potential impact on the enterprise and on the achievement of scheduled objectives

- Recommending and participating in the design and implementation of standards, tools and methodologies

- Participating in the design and implementation of IT service management standards, tools and methodologies

- Designing, implementing and maintaining procedures relating to service catalogue and/or service level management activities

- Documenting and monitoring service catalogue and/or service level management activities

- Communicating with others on service catalogue and/or service level management activities


Key Characteristics/Knowledge:

- Detailed Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture design and relevant methodologies.

- Ability to manage, lead and deliver a range of complex projects, tasks and activities

- Ability to think strategically, both in the long term and in thinking about the needs of the whole organisation

- Practical problem solver, with a focus on efficiency, value for money and the effective management of conflicting priorities

- Ability to demonstrate resilience when facing contradicting priorities or demanding workloads

- Ability to provide clear and unambiguous advice on complex issues and not using jargon
