InfoSec People, the IT Security recruitment specialists, are seeking a Senior Engineer to install, configure and support security analytics products for a software company based in London.

This exciting role will interest experienced Security Engineers as well as Unix or Windows System Administrators and Network Security Engineers looking to get into the security domain. Within a small team, you'll have the scope to contribute to the full lifecycle of pre-sales through deployment and in-life support for one of the leading vendors in a growing marketplace. You'll be spending your time in the office and in the lab, designing, building and tuning products for individual customer use cases alongside the engineering and product management teams.

You'll also be working with customer IT teams to integrate and tune the product. Full training will be provided if necessary; we just need your experience of software deployment, networking and databases as a starting point.


- Validate requirements, install and tune products and provide technical liaison during proof of concept lifecycle
- Participate in design workshops and customer engagement
- Contribute to the technical components of proposal documentation
- Design and build proof of concept for demonstration
- Product implementation design in accordance with customer environment
- Software installation, configuration and tuning to meet specific use cases
- Remote technical support and trouble shooting
- Internal and external product training

Essential Attributes Required

- Extensive experience in network and security design, implementation and operations
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues within a mixed software, hardware and networking environment
- Knowledge of networking and security technologies and issues, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, routers and switches
- Deep understanding of Unix and Windows (server and desktop)
- Knowledge of log technologies, sources and transport methods, for example NT Event Logs, Syslog, Oracle, IIS, Apache, Snort and anti-virus
- Ability to write simple Regex (Regular Expressions)
- Understanding of databases and basic SQL
- Must hold British citizenship and be willing to undergo SC security clearance checks

Desirable Skills

- Knowledge of SIEM products and tools
- Working knowledge of of scripting in Unix shell, Perl, Microsoft, etc.
- Understanding of security issues within virtualistion technologies
- Experience of working in UK government, defence or law enforcement environments
- Relevant Computer Science, IT or Information Security qualification
