We are a company of approximately 30 people specialising in materials testing technology. As the total testing solution we offer bespoke design, manufacture and installation of servo hydraulic materials testing machines as well as a UKAS accredited sub-contract materials testing service.

Job Title: Quality Manager

Responsible to: Operations Manager

Location: The job will be mainly working at our factory site based in Dudley,with the possible occasional requirement to visit customer's sites around the UK

Salary: £25,000 (basic)

Hours: Standard factory working hours are 08.00 to 16.30 Monday to Friday, on-site hours will vary

Job Responsibilities:

- Implementation and maintenance of quality systems and continuous improvement within department. Production of procedures, instruction manuals and technical documentation.

- Recruitment, training and management of team including setting, measuring and reporting against KPI's.

- Organising own time, team time and resources (information, tools, materials, suppliers, customers) to complete tasks allocated by Senior Management to the required standard, schedule and budget.

- Working within Management Team and with Senior Management Team to complete tasks allocated to the required standard, schedule and budget (organise own internal meetings and discussions, technical input)

- Providing material and labour information to sales team for quotation purposes.

- Shows commercial awareness, and makes prudent use of Company resources.

- Providing technical support to suppliers, customers and internal staff.

- Ensuring maintenance of tools, equipment and working areas (tools put away, equipment well maintained, no rubbish, correct use of tools and equipment).

- First line of responsibility for health and well-being, performance and discipline of team and reporting this to Senior Management.

Essential Skills:

- Experience of working to International Quality standards Knowledge and experience of ISO 9001
- Managing and auditing Quality Management Systems (internal and by external bodies)
- Managing Health & Safety in the company
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Good level of numeracy

Desirable skills:

- Familiar with a company offering bespoke/varied products
- Knowledge of material testing / test machines
- Understanding of servo hydraulics
- Ability to interpret electrical/electronic wiring schematics
- Knowledge and experience of Lean manufacturing
