We are recruiting for a Food & Beverage Manager to be based at a site in East London

This is a temporay role with the potential of moving to a permanent full time role after the first 3 months.

- Temp to perm position
- 5 days per week - you must be willing to work any 5 days of the week to be considered for this role
- Pay rate of £15-18 per hour (circa 30k - 33k salary equivalent)

The main duties and responsibilities are:

- To manage a team and demonstrate effective internal and external communication to ensure the smooth running of daily operations and day to day events
- Line management of the team including recruitment, training and development, as well as rotas and payroll.
- To ensure all operating standards are followed by all staff and reviewed when necessary
- Drive the department to meet all set targets and budgets, exceed commercial success by developing and training existing staff to Brand Standards.
- Successfully deliver financial & departmental KPIs, department Health Checks and audits.
- Understand margins, stock management, people management (chefs and front of house)
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to respond appropriately & professionally to everyone you interact with.
- Proficiency in using a computer with the confidence to learn new systems & databases quickly.
- To ensure that all legislative and Government guidelines are adhered to, including (but not exclusively) The Food and Safety Act, HACCP procedures, Health and Safety at Work Act and COSHH regulations
- To ensure that staffing levels reflect the peaks and troughs of the business and to maximise the utilisation of staff within all areas
- To understand stock management and assist with stock control procedures
- To liaise with the SMT (Senior Management Team) and client as required
- To liaise with the Head of Hospitality and the Finance & Resource Manager on the preparation of all payroll, financial issues and major purchases as required
- To complete and submit Human Resources information requirements on request


- An experienced Food & Beverage Manager (retail cafe/restaurant experience and events delivery would be an advantage)
- Good business acumen with a full understanding of food & beverage sales, revenue & controls
- Must understand margins, stock management, people management (chefs and front of house)
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Good team working and a flexibility to working hours and days
- Culinary school diploma or degree in food service management or related field
