We are a company of approximately 30 people specialising in materials testing technology. As the total testing solution we offer bespoke design, manufacture and installation of servo hydraulic materials testing machines as well as a UKAS accredited sub-contract materials testing service.

Job Title: Operations Manager

Responsible to: Managing Director/ Board of Directors

Location: The job will be mainly working at our factory site based in Dudley, with the possible occasional requirement to visit customer's sites around the UK

Salary: 45-50k (basic)

Hours: Standard factory working hours are 08.00 to 16.30 Monday to Friday, on-site hours will vary.

Job Responsibilities:

- Implementationandmaintenanceofqualitysystems
- Recruitment, training and management of managers
- Setting and ensuring the standard, schedule (Operations) and budget (Sales / Finance) for completion of work to meet business plan and customer requirements
- Working within senior management team to ensure effective running of the Company to meet the agreed business plan and Company objectives
- Technical / financial input to planning and delivery of work
- Ensuring managers have all necessary information to organise and complete jobs as required to meet the required standard, schedule and budget
- Overall facilities and equipment maintenance
- Measurement and reporting of team performance against requirements (KPIs)
- Responsibility for the health and well-being, performance and discipline of managers and reporting this to Board / Directors

Essential Skills

- GoodknowledgeofMicrosoftExcel,WordandPowerPoint
- Good level of numeracy
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety at work regulations

Desirable Skills

- Understanding of a bespoke manufacturing and support services environment
- Knowledgeofmaterialtesting/testmachines

- Operation of general workshop equipment
- Experience of working to International standards and Quality Management Systems
- Experience of working at customer's sites
