Chailey Heritage Foundation are currently recruiting for a Community Support Worker to join their new Community Service - Pathways

Salary: Starting at £17,435 rising to £18,444 following completion of training and probation

Working with children, young people and young adults is a unique and rewarding role which enables you to promote the well-being of individuals within their home and the wider community, facilitating access to activities, events or attractions to realise their own aims and aspirations.

To launch this new service we are looking to recruit a friendly and enthusiastic Support Worker who will provide person centred support to the highest standards whilst being reliable and conscientious.

Above all else we are looking for those with the following;

  • Previous experience as a care worker, or as an unpaid carer: You will be required to be caring and compassionate, have an understanding of the needs of people who require care and support and have the ability to give care and support to service users with aspects of their daily living and personal care in a respectful and non-judgemental way
  • Literacy, IT & Numeracy skills: You will need to have a good basic understanding of English, Maths & IT as you will be responsible for producing written records about the care and support given to our service users including support with medicines
  • Communication skills: you will need to be able to communicate effectively and appropriately with all sorts of people as well as the children, including: Parents, families and staff based at Chailey Heritage Foundation
  • Full drivers licence: You will require a full drivers to ensure you are able to travel between homes and activities in the community
  • Willingness to learn: We are looking for those with an NVQ/QCF/Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care or for those willing to work towards this qualification
