The Opportunity:

- First and foremost this is a really exciting and rare opportunity in terms of job content, culture of employer, and, level of responsibility offered
- My client is a highly entrepreneurial Global Alternative Asset Management business with an historic emphasis on Private Equity investing offering exposure to both primary and secondary investment strategies
- With a successful track record of investing for nearly 40 years, my client has gone through a recent period of significant growth (AuM and employee numbers), with creation of new and exciting investment products and the opening of overseas offices
- London is the Head office, although it still maintains very much a boutique feel with a relatively flat structure that provides employees with unparalleled access to senior stakeholders and other teams / functions
- This role has been created to oversee and manage the Client Reporting team that is well established, however, the output of the team is required to constantly evolve due to the complexities of the funds / investment products and strategies, and, the nuances of specific institutional requirements
- The monthly and quarterly reporting process has continued to shorten over the last year due to improvements in data governance and controls, however, a large emphasis of this role will be on leading the continued improvement of process, looking to shorten the lines of communication with other operational and client service focused departments both in London and oversees, and, further reduce the length of time the reporting process takes in terms
- Being a very accomplished leader and Manager, you will be required to take a lead in all these initiatives and seek to upskill the team in terms of their knowledge base and general effectiveness, managing through creation of a learning culture that promotes a productive working environment

Your Experience:

- You will most likely have a strong record of academic achievement and be comfortable with numbers, with the ability to identify data related errors quickly
- It is essential that you have accomplished demonstrable staff management skills, with experience of the full management gambit. As importantly you will have a high level of emotional intelligence and be able to lead by example thereby building trust and respect from your team
- Possess the ability to build meaningful internal relationships with all other relevant departments and stakeholders. The success of my client's business is based on this
- You will have worked for a buy-side investment business within a reporting function, with experience of producing reports for internal and external clients. A level of comfort with numbers, performance data etc. is critical, as is an eye for detail!
- Private Equity experience is not essential although would be helpful. A passion for learning about Private Equity and it's nuances will be essential
- You will be able to clearly demonstrate in your prior experience the ability to lead process change and have a controls focused mind-set, along with the capacity to build out meaningful management information (MI) etc.
- Strong communication skills are also paramount, both written and verbal
