An APA Approved Employer,one of the largest retailers in the UK are currently recruiting for an Accounts Payable Supervisor.

About the team

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic Finance Operations team where you will be responsible for the day to day running of a section of the Accounts Payable department who look after over 600,000 invoices per annum to circa 5,000 suppliers.

Based out of our Leicestershire head office, you'll be reporting into the Accounts Payable manager and responsible for coaching, developing and mentoring a team of 5 Accounts Payable Clerks. You will also get involved in a range of projects such as implementing process improvements and system upgrades.

About the Role

You will:

Be responsible for ensuring that large volumes of supplier invoices are processed accurately and on time as well as ensuring month end supplier accruals are prepared and ensure excellent relationships with key suppliers are built and maintained.

Coach, mentor and develop a team of 5 Accounts Payable Clerks to help develop a more accountable culture and assist those looking for career progression through supporting them in specific areas.

Deputise for the Accounts Payable Manager and help them to execute a range of tasks and projects within the team including systems changes, weekly and monthly MI reporting, providing supporting documentation for audits through to posting journals etc.

About You

· Previous experience working in a similar role including supervising a team

· Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

· Excellent Microsoft Office experience including a good knowledge of Excel such as Pivot Tables and V Lookups

· Have a hands on approach to working and be comfortable working in a very fast paced environment

· Experience of working with both internal and external customers

You will ideally be APA (Accounts Payable Association) qualified at Technician or Manager level.
