Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) is a highly specialised and essential part of the Ministry of Defence. Their purpose is to equip and support the UK's Armed Forces for operations now and in the future. DE&S work with the Military Commands (Army, Navy and Royal Air Force) and MOD Head Office to manage complex programmes that deliver equipment and support to the UK's Armed Forces.

DE&S are seeking experienced Systems Engineers with a broad base of skills, knowledge and experience to fill a number of engineering posts within the new The Technical Directorate and Systems Engineering Consultancy in DE&S

The DE&S Technical Directorate is responsible for defining Technical Policy and providing technical support to DE&S delivery teams. Director Technical is establishing a new in-house technical consultancy team to reduce its technical support expenditure across the whole of DE&S.

The team will focus on developing core engineering documents for teams, including engineering management plans, system requirements documents or integrated test evaluation and acceptance plans. You will be responsible for the delivery of technical support tasks and managing the complex client engagements.

You will have demonstrable experience of:

- Scoping fixed price technical consultancy tasks to meet customers' needs and be deliverable to cost, time and quality
- Managing the delivery of fixed price technical consultancy tasks to customer satisfaction, cost and quality
- Developing systems engineering products such as requirements documents, test and evaluation plans, assurance plans or engineering management plans
- Working on complex products, for example in defence, aerospace, automotive, rail or other high technology sector
- Helping clients solve complex engineering and management problems

In addition to the normal DE&S benefits package a number of candidates will be funded to study a part time Systems Engineering Masters at Shrivenham. *************

You will also be supported in achieving professional status in INCOSE and/or Management Consultancy.
