Mid / Senior Level Front End Web Developer

Working for a leading retail e-Commerce organisation, they are looking for a mid or senior level developer for their established team based in Central London

Role

- Develop high quality commercial level (standards compliant, SEO friendly) and scalable front end web solutions for user journeys and online customer interactions across: editorial content, eCommerce functionality, social media applications and mobile-optimised sites

- Responsible for implementing website updates based on Creative and eCommerce briefs including homepage weekly updates, weekly editorial pages, change requests, new feautures and bug fixes at eCommerce areas such as Product detail and listing pages, checkout etc

- Ensuring creative implemented online meet the web development team standards

- Co-ordinate with the back-end development team to deliver robust applications as per specifications

- Responsible for providing accurate estimates of time and effort required to implement internal requests, advising stakeholders and project owner on progress

- QA and cross-browser testing

- Integration with rest JSON APIs

- Usage of issue management (e.g. JIRA) and version control (e.g. Git) systems

- any other tasks as reasonably required

Experience

- JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, HTML5, CSS3, SASS (minimum of 2+ years commercial experience)
- Task automation tools
- Responsive Design/ Development (2 years of commercial experience)
- Experience working with responsive front-end frameworks such as Foundation and ability to develop bespoke grid systems from the ground up
- Experience with Node.js would be an advantage but not critical
- Experience with Content Management Systems an advantage but not critical
- Good communicator, and good collaboration skills, able to work with both creative/design and technical developer colleagues
- Motivated, seeking peer-QA as appropriate, pro-actively reporting on status and tasks
- Adaptable. The role requires a willingness to take on tasks outside of a narrowly defined role, and ideally a desire to be multi-skilled
- JavaScript components and frameworks, React.js and other JavaScript MVC frameworks, Offline Applications etc
