Temporary Finance Manager

Location: Central London
Salary: £36,000 per annum, pro rata.
Contract: Full time, 9 month maternity cover.
Start Date: 16th January 2017.

Overall purpose of the job:

* To record and maintain financial transactions including payments to suppliers, expenses, bank payments and receipts
* To support the Director of Finance & Administration and the Finance & Administration Department
* To support the Association in all areas of finance and administration

Responsibilities:

* Maintain financial accounts using Sage 50
* Monitor bank accounts daily and maintain sales, purchase and nominal ledgers accordingly
* Reconcile bank accounts and ensure that cashflow needs are met
* Process purchase invoices, obtain authorisation for payment and ensure suppliers are paid in accordance with standard payment terms
* Raise sales and recharge invoices in an accurate and timely manner
* Credit control - ensuring purchase and sales invoices are paid on time
* Monthly account reconciliations for all ledger control accounts
* Monthly reconciliation of movements and income received on the Association's investment portfolio
* Maintain fixed asset register
* Process sales orders and raise sales invoices where necessary
* Process employee expenses
* Manage petty cash, banking and foreign currency
* Prepare, reconcile and submit VAT returns in accordance with deadlines
* Manage server back-ups, checking the back-up status daily, ensure that tapes are securely stored
* Liaise with the IT support company re IT issues
* Stationery and office equipment ordering
* Produce annual P11D's for all employees as required using bespoke software, submission of these to HMRC
* Provide support to the Chief Executive as required and in the absence of her PA
* Apply the highest Health and Safety standards in all work done, adhering to the Association's Health and Safety Policy
* Undertake other duties in the Finance & Administration department or any other department as and when required
